PROJECT
THE PROBLEM BEING SOLVED
Martin and Penni have an unusual home with multi levels, high ceilings and a particular style. They both knew they wanted a lighting solution but did not know where to start.
THEY WANTED
THEY GOT
PROJECT NOTES
This is a home with hard to reach areas, particularly with soaring vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. Rather than go down an expensive route of laying new cabling, the solution piggy-backed on the existing cabling, using smart home technology to give them access to far more ‘design’ and ‘functional’ features than not. For example, all of the various lights were fitted with dimmers despite it being on existing single purpose electrical cabling. This approach not only kept the installation costs down but save potential unsightly cabling from having to be installed.
With the use of a smart home unit, they were then able to extend features such as automating their lights, heating and cooling and even giving the convenience of being able to leave the home with the swipe of a finger, with everything within the home safely shutting down within a moment. The smart home features also delivered energy savings.
